Afghanistan, Kabul, March 20, 2016
Esatullah operates a makeshift ferris wheel during Persian New Year (this leap year on March 20th.) Many families come here around the Sakhi Shrine to celebrate the arrival of the year 1395 in the Kart-e Sakhi area which is a predominantly ethnic Hazara, a Shia, neighborhood. Kabul's population has grown enormously in the last decade and in this area there is no open space left besides the huge graveyard where the celebrations take place, and families come to picnic or play games.
